Digitization orders (Basic and Advanced) include one delivery format: 1 year cloud streaming or a disc set, your choice at checkout.
For Basic and Advanced. Watch in a streaming app, just like Netflix, on phone, tablet, smart TV or web. After the free first year, renewal is $25/year for up to 20 tapes in your cloud, plus $1/year for each additional tape. We don’t offer USB flash storage on purpose. See the FAQ for why.
Standard-definition DVDs with menus you designed in the dashboard. Available with Basic and Advanced packages. Not available for AI Enhancement output: DVD can’t hold a FullHD stream.
High-capacity BluRay discs. Optional alternative to DVD for Basic and Advanced packages. If you add AI Enhancement to a Digitization order from your dashboard before the discs are burned, the enhanced output ships on BluRay even if you originally picked DVD: DVD can’t hold FullHD.
If you upload your own video files for AI Enhancement (no Digitization order), there’s no cloud subscription and no disc. We deliver an MP4 download.
Downloads. The MP4 files of every order can be downloaded from your dashboard for 30 days after the order is completed. With cloud streaming, those 30 days start when your subscription ends instead. Save local copies before your window closes.
Original tapes. All physical orders include the return of your original tapes.
Upgrade while your order is open. Mark specific clips for Advanced re-scan or AI enhancement. We bill only the minutes you choose.
As soon as your captures appear in the dashboard, mark portions for higher tiers, until the order is completed (with discs, before they are burned). No re-shipping, no minimums.
$0.05 per minute of source video. Archival-quality re-scan with Advanced deinterlacing and Full-Frame TBC, applied only to the portions you mark.
$0.30 per minute, first 3 minutes free. Upscale to 1080p with denoise and detail enhancement. AI always runs on an Advanced capture, the cleanest possible source; a Basic capture gets the Advanced re-scan first (see the combined option below). The free 3 minutes are for sampling: mark a clip you care about, see the result, then decide whether to mark more.
$0.35 per minute combined ($0.05 re-scan + $0.30 AI). The first 3 minutes are fully free on this path too: both the re-scan and the AI on the sample cost you nothing. Use this when you ordered Basic but want the full archival + AI treatment on specific clips, without paying for the whole tape.
Upgrades can’t be added to a completed order. You can still download your files from the dashboard and upload them as a standalone AI Enhancement order at $0.35 per minute, or email support@savevhs.com and we’ll help.

The online order tops out at 10 tapes to keep handling predictable. For larger archives, contact us→. We can quote a better per-tape rate and stagger the work.
Mold, broken shells, sticky-shed syndrome and other damage are handled separately. We inspect, send a free quote, and only proceed with your written approval. Billed hourly based on the work required.
Calculated at checkout based on package weight. Returns ship via USPS with tracking, typically in 3–8 business days. Portland metro pickups include free return drop-off.
Oregon has no statewide sales tax. Customers outside Oregon may see tax added at checkout depending on local rules.
