Digitizing is Simple, Safe, and Forever. And we treat it that way. A small team of analog video specialists based in Portland, Oregon, doing one thing carefully: rescuing consumer video tape with equipment that matches the work.

Consumer video tape, all of it
VHS, VHS-C, S-VHS, Video8, Hi8, Digital8 and MiniDV. We don’t dabble in audio cassettes, film reels or photo scanning. The narrow focus lets us invest in proper equipment and develop real expertise for the formats we cover.

Two tiers, plus an enhancement
Basic capture for tapes in good condition, Advanced archival-quality scanning for worn tapes, and AI Enhancement for upscaling to 1080p. Customers pick what their tapes actually need, not what we want to sell them.

Both shipping models
Free courier pickup and return for the Portland metro area, mail-in with USPS return everywhere else. Same per-tape pricing either way. No “local convenience fee” or shipping markup.

Real equipment for each format
We run dedicated VCRs and camcorders for each tape type, paired with time base correctors and calibrated capture cards. Generalist services that handle every media type tend to use compromise equipment and rushed workflow. We don’t.

We handle problem tapes
Sticky-shed, mold, broken shells, sun-faded magnetic media: we say yes to tapes other services reject. Restoration is quoted separately so you know what you’re paying for, and we never proceed without written approval.

AI when it helps
Modern upscaling can do remarkable things to standard-definition footage, but only when the source is clean enough to give it something to work with. We’re honest about when AI is worth the cost and when it isn’t.

Transparent pricing
Per-tape rates, visible in a calculator. No boxes with mystery contents, no upsell-on-arrival surprises. The price you see is the price you pay (plus return shipping for mail-in, calculated at checkout).
Customers pick what their tapes actually need, not what we want to sell them.

Our workshop is in the Portland metro area. We don’t take walk-ins: the workshop is a working space, not a retail front. Portland customers get free courier pickup and return.

Mail-in service covers the rest of the country. Your tapes ship to us via whatever carrier you prefer, with tracking. Originals come back via USPS, also with tracking.

Outside the U.S.? Contact us before ordering so we can confirm we can return your originals to your country.
